Delta DOP-100L Series HMI 7 10.1 inch Ethernet MQTT OPC UA

Delta DOP-100L Series HMI 7 10.1 inch Ethernet MQTT OPC UA

The Delta DOP-100L Series (officially the DOP-100 Lite Series) is the branch of the DOP-100 family built on a new hardware architecture. In Delta's own description, the series delivers comprehensive upgrades in computing performance, visual presentation and system architecture, with the goal of providing "a robust, well-optimised HMI solution" that improves the user experience and accelerates global deployment.

The line comprises four models — DOP-107L1-01, DOP-107L2-01, DOP-110L1-01 and DOP-110L2-01 — covering 7-inch and 10.1-inch sizes.

The most practical point of this series is that both the 7-inch and 10.1-inch models have a built-in 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. In the main DOP-100 series, Ethernet is fitted only to the Standard Ethernet Type and the Advanced models — the Basic models (B / C / D Type) have none. The DOP-100L makes Ethernet standard across the range, which means you can pick the entry 7-inch size and still connect straight to the plant network, without being forced up to a larger screen just to get a network port.

Product Highlights
  • Built-in 10/100 Mbps Ethernet on all 7-inch and 10.1-inch models — entry size can still go straight onto the network
  • ARM Cortex-A7 dual core at 1.2 GHz — new hardware architecture for faster screen changes and response
  • L1 / L2 dual cutout options — L1 is Delta's standard cutout; L2 matches common market cutouts, so retrofits reuse the existing opening
  • Bottom cable exit — cabling runs downward, saving cabinet space at the sides and rear and enabling dense layouts
  • Fully laminated glass with an integrated high-transmittance nameplate — flat surface and clear, vivid display
  • IPS display with wide viewing angles — readable during side-on operation
  • VNC Server support — remote access to the HMI screen for remote diagnosis and assistance
  • MQTT and OPC UA Client support — direct integration with IoT platforms and higher-level systems
  • Web API interface — HMI data can be pushed to a web browser without dedicated software
  • Narrow-bezel design with UL certification covering all four L1/L2 models

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the DOP-100L and the main DOP-100 series?
Three core differences. (1) Ethernet — both the 7-inch and 10.1-inch DOP-100L models have built-in Ethernet, whereas in the main DOP-100 series only the Standard Ethernet Type and Advanced models have a network port (the Basic B/C/D Types do not). (2) Processor — the DOP-100L uses a Cortex-A7 dual core at 1.2 GHz, versus Cortex-A8 single core at 800 MHz on the DOP-100 Basic and Standard models. (3) Architecture and cutouts — the DOP-100L is a new hardware architecture and offers L1/L2 cutout options, with L2 matching common market cutouts for easier replacement of older models.
What is the difference between L1 and L2, and how do I choose?
The difference is purely the cutout dimension standard. L1 follows Delta's own standard cutout; L2 fits common market cutout sizes. The choice is straightforward: new cabinets designed to Delta's standard -> L1; replacing another brand or an older model and wanting to reuse the existing opening -> L2. Both versions share the same electrical specification and functions — choosing the wrong one only means the panel has to be re-machined.
What is the practical benefit of the bottom cable exit?
All cabling exits downward from the underside of the housing, so no wiring space needs to be reserved at the sides or rear of the cabinet. In densely packed panels this materially increases installation density, and since all cabling runs the same way it simplifies routing and later servicing. On retrofit projects, where existing cabinet wiring usually has to be reorganised, a bottom exit more easily follows the existing cable routes.
Do all models have an Ethernet port?
Yes. Delta's official L Type product page states explicitly that both the 7-inch and 10.1-inch models have a built-in 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. This is the biggest difference between the DOP-100L and the main DOP-100 series Basic models — at the entry 7-inch size the main series Basic models offer no network port, while the DOP-100L does.
What are VNC Server, MQTT and OPC UA each used for?
VNC Server lets a remote device (PC or tablet) access the HMI screen directly, for remote diagnosis, remote assistance and training, so engineers need not travel to site. MQTT is a lightweight publish/subscribe protocol suited to bandwidth-constrained networks and is the most common way to push device data to a cloud platform. OPC UA carries semantic data modelling and security mechanisms, making it suited to exchanging structured data with MES and SCADA. Together they mean the DOP-100L can connect to the customer's existing IoT and information systems without being tied to one vendor's cloud — particularly important for OEM export machinery.
