Scenario 1: On-site Wiring & Power Supply
Q1: The voltage fluctuates heavily in overseas factories, and unstable 24VDC power supply causes the controller to restart frequently. How to solve this?
A1: Prioritize equipping the AC700 with an independent regulated power supply; do not share the same circuit with high-load devices like servos or contactors. In addition, connect a 1000μF electrolytic capacitor in parallel at the controller's power terminal to withstand short-term voltage sags. If the factory power grid is really poor, directly use the -R model with redundant power supply, which enables seamless switching between dual power supplies without program loss.
Q2: When connecting the EtherCAT bus, the slave stations keep dropping offline, and no cause is found after thorough troubleshooting. How to handle this in overseas on-site situations?
A2: First check the wiring -- do not use ordinary network cables; industrial shielded network cables are a must, and both ends must be grounded consistently. Many factories in Southeast Asia do not have proper grounding for the floor, making the shield layer useless. Then check the topology; star connection is not recommended. The AC700's EtherCAT port is suitable for linear topology, and remember to set the terminal resistor on the last slave station. In addition, overseas workshops have a lot of dust; wrap waterproof tape around the connectors to prevent oxidation and poor contact.
Scenario 2: Program & System Compatibility
Q3: Programming with European computers overseas, the CODESYS software cannot connect to the AC700, prompting "Communication Timeout". What's wrong?
A3: It's most likely a mismatched IP segment. The default IP of the AC700's dual network ports is 192.168.1.100; set your computer's network card to the same segment (e.g., 192.168.1.101) and do not connect via the factory's office network. In addition, turn off the computer's firewall -- many European and American enterprises' firewalls block industrial protocols by default. Try turning off the antivirus software's real-time protection before connecting.
Q4: After downloading the program, "trajectory jitter" occurs during axis movement. Overseas customers suspect the controller's performance is insufficient. How to troubleshoot?
A4: First rule out mechanical issues -- ask the customer to check if the coupling between the servo motor and the lead screw is loose.
