The Delta DOP-107DV is a 7-inch human machine interface from the DOP-100 series Basic (D-Type) range. It uses an 800 x 480 high-resolution TFT LCD supporting 65,535 colours. Panel brightness reaches 400 cd/m² (typical), and with an LED backlight rated at more than 20,000 hours half-life at 25 °C the display stays clearly readable under factory lighting. The active display area measures 154.08 x 85.92 mm.
The DOP-107DV adds networking capability to the base platform, making it the best-connected 7-inch model in the series. It runs an ARM Cortex-A8 processor at 800 MHz with 256 MB Flash ROM and 256 MB RAM, and includes one 10/100 Mbps auto-detection Ethernet port. That Ethernet port carries its own isolated power circuit rated at 1,500 V peak for one minute, protecting it against site ground-potential differences and noise. For serial communication, COM1 is RS-232 (with flow control) / RS-485 and COM2 is RS-422 / RS-485 -- one more interface standard than the BV's RS-485, which suits long-distance or full-duplex devices. There is also one USB Slave 2.0 port (for PC programming) and one USB Host 2.0 port (for a USB flash drive, used to copy and back up project files).
For protection and reliability, the front panel is rated IP65 / NEMA4 / UL TYPE 4X (indoor use only), so it can be mounted directly on machine panels that get washed down. Power, serial ports and Ethernet all have isolation protection. Operating temperature is 0-50 °C. Vibration resistance conforms to IEC 61131-2 and shock resistance to IEC 60068-2-27 (11 ms, 15 G peak). Power is DC +24 V (±15%) with maximum consumption of 8.8 W. The unit measures 215 x 161 x 35.5 mm and weighs approximately 700 g, with natural cooling.

There are only two substantive differences. First, the network interface: the DV has one 10/100 Mbps auto-detection Ethernet port with a built-in isolated power circuit rated 1,500 V peak for 1 minute, while the BV is N/A. Second, COM2: RS-422 / RS-485 on the DV versus RS-485 on the BV. There are minor differences in maximum power consumption (8.8 W for the DV, 8.6 W for the BV) and in the bottom clearance requirement (the DV needs 45 mm, the BV has no such requirement). Display, CPU, memory, USB, protection rating, dimensions and weight are otherwise identical.
It connects to the plant LAN for remote monitoring of live screens, alarm and running-data retrieval, networking multiple HMIs together, and pushing production data up to MES / SCADA. The port carries its own isolated power circuit rated at 1,500 V peak for one minute, which protects against site ground-potential differences and interference -- important when cabling runs between different distribution cabinets.
RS-422 is a differential full-duplex standard with better noise immunity and longer transmission distance than RS-485. If your field device -- some servo drives, weighing instruments or long-cable instruments -- uses RS-422, the DV connects directly with no extra converter. The BV's COM2 offers only RS-485 and cannot connect to RS-422 devices directly.
Through Delta's DOPSoft software, the DOP-100 series supports Delta's own DVP, AH and AS series PLCs, along with communication protocols for many third-party PLCs and drives (including Modbus). The Ethernet port can carry Ethernet-based protocols such as Modbus TCP. For the definitive list of supported controllers and protocols, refer to Delta's official communication manual -- and if your controller is unusual, confirm before ordering.
The front panel is rated IP65 / NEMA4 / UL TYPE 4X, but Delta explicitly specifies indoor use only. It can be used on the front of machine panels that contact water or cutting fluid, but it is not suitable for outdoor use, condensation, steam or corrosive gas environments. Mounting torque is 0.7 N*m and maximum panel thickness is 5 mm. For heat dissipation, leave at least 60 mm at the rear and at least 45 mm at the bottom (note: the BV has no bottom clearance requirement -- the DV generates slightly more heat because of the Ethernet port).
Use DC +24 V (−15% to +15%) from an isolated power supply, supplied by a Class 2 or SELV circuit. Maximum consumption is 8.8 W, and Delta recommends a power supply rated at 1.5 to 2 times the specified consumption. Use AWG 24-12 copper wire, stripped 7-8 mm, torqued to 5 kg-cm; the cable temperature rating must exceed 75 °C. Always ground the unit correctly in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code, 2005 Ed.).
