Can SV605 connect to ABB or Lenze PLCs directly?
Yes. It supports EtherCAT/Modbus/CANopen, which are standard protocols for ABB/Lenze PLCs. Just set the same protocol parameters on both sides.
What's the max distance for SV605 networking?
Depends on the protocol. EtherCAT: up to 100m per segment (extendable with repeaters). CANopen/CANlink: up to 1000m at low baud rates. Modbus TCP: same as Ethernet (100m).
Do I need a separate power supply for the control circuit?
No. The servo gets control power from the main power input, but we suggest a stable power source for better anti-interference performance.
Can SV605 replace stepper motors directly?
Totally. It has a pulse control mode that's compatible with most stepper driver signals. You don't need to modify the PLC program—just swap the driver and motor, then do a quick auto-tuning.
What if the servo shows an overheat error?
Check three things first: 1) Is the cabinet ventilation blocked? 2) Is the motor running beyond its rated load? 3) Is the ambient temperature over 40°C? Fix the ventilation or reduce the load, then reset the servo.
Does SV605 support 1-phase 230V input?
Yes. For 0.1-1.5kW models, single-phase 200-240V AC is supported. 2kW models need 3-phase 380-440V AC only.
Can I use SV605 in dusty or humid environments?
It's IP20 rated (only for cabinet installation). Don't put it in dusty, humid or corrosive areas—use a sealed cabinet if the site is harsh.
How long does the auto-tuning take?
30-60 seconds tops. Just enable the auto-tuning function on the panel, and the servo will identify motor inertia and adjust rigidity automatically—no professional skills needed.
Is STO (Safety Torque Off) standard on all models?
Yes, all SV605 models come with STO (up to SIL3) as standard. It meets EU machine safety requirements, so you don't need to buy extra safety modules.
What's the difference between SV605 and other Inovance servo series for overseas users?
SV605 is the budget pick for small machines (0.1-2kW). It's cheaper than SV630/SV660, but has enough precision for pick-and-place, packaging, or small conveyors. For high-speed, high-precision tasks, go for SV630/SV660.
